Staff I Recall from the Period
"TD"
(Deputy Head : Mr Tonan-Dyson ) seemed to have been there forever and unlikely to leave. I really wouldn't have been surprised to find he was still there (in his nineties ?<g> ) teaching English to Arabs - though I've recently found out that he retired in 1963. How could anyone forget the incident when he switched off the newly installed air-conditioners because "all that cold air might addle your brains".Mr & Mrs Clay
Lt Commander Richard Clay RN(retd) taught Maths & Science
His wife K... (Kay/Karen/Kate ? I'm not really sure which) taught French (&, or so I've been told, A level English).
They too had been there a long time & I never expected them to tour-ex but when I wrote to them care of the school with my O level results in around Sept 63 my letter was returned "gone away- no forwarding address"
ISTR a Mr Miller (or maybe Matthews) taught Geography. I couldn't for the life of me remember who the headmaster was but a FR contact mentioned Mr Eric Byrne & jogged my memory. Still low tide on any other staff names I'm afraid.
Have also been given following names on which you may care to comment whether or not they were there in your day.
